The afternoon saw the turn of our 'Back to Basics' workshop sessions 🙌

The topics covered included farm safety, understanding tenancy agreements, contract farming, recognising disease amongst crops, soil sampling and analysis, rural crime prevention and cybercrime.

Thanks to @ssencommunity, @policescotlandofficial and Scottish PARC, @galbraithgroup , Scottish Agronomy and @cefetragrain for running our workshops. They were packed to the brim with useful information for our attendees to take away to their own farms and businesses.

Day 2 of our Agri Conference started with a visit

Day 2 of our Agri Conference started with a visit to Rhynie Farm by kind invitation of Donald Ross. 🌾🐂🐏 Attendees thoroughly enjoyed the visit despite the chill in the air.

The tour of the award-winning mixed arable, beef and sheep unit also feature a 'Back to Basics' vet talk from Lucy Rogers (MRCVS) of @foundry_vets , focussing on best practice and Health Management Plans.

Our Agri Conference got off to a great start with

Our Agri Conference got off to a great start with last night's Networking dinner.🙌

Attendees enjoyed picking the brains of industry experts from @galbraithgroup , @cefetragrain , @nfuscotland and @ssencommunity.

Alongside this we heard from Hugh Fraser and Alistair McNab from NFUS. They spoke about the continued partnership agreement between our organisations (announced this year at the Royal Highland Show), coming together as an industry, the recent budget concerns, and the importance of the youth voice.

Thanks to our speakers and guests for their insights and expertise. We are excited to see what the rest of the weekend holds.

On Tuesday night John McCulloch (the winner of our

On Tuesday night John McCulloch (the winner of our Rural Ambassador award) was invited by @qmscotland and @alltechuk to attend the first Scottish screening of the new global documentary “World Without Cows” in the RHASS Pavilion at Ingliston.

This is a documentary which explores the affect cows have on the planet and what the planet would be like if they no longer existed.

After the screening John represented SAYFC on an industry panel alongside Claire Taylor (Journalists & Agricultural Commentator) and Matthew Smith (Vice President of Alltech) with Sarah Millar (Chief Executive of QMS) in the chair. The panel discussed their initial reactions to the documentary and what they believed our world would look like without cows.
