Travel Funding
Funding is available from multiple sources close to Young Farmers. See the list below to see funding available, also remember that clubs and districts can be asked for funding for trips.
Due to the nature of group trips being leisure based rather than a personal development exchange, there will be fewer funding sources that you can apply to. The International Trust will donate to group trips; those in the West region can apply to Ellen Kerr and for all others, the main opportunity would be asking your club or District. There will be more funding sources available for the Agri and Rural Affairs group study tours.
International Trust
Travellers who successfully apply for a trip will receive a grant from the International Trust set up to specifically support Young Farmers. There is no need to submit an application, this funding is arranged through SAYFC.
Provides grants for those who wish wishing to broaden their farming experience with a planned overseas trip.
The Trust seeks applications from young people under thirty years of age who wish to travel abroad to study aspects of agriculture and rural industry.
Priority is awarded to North East of Scotland members with the aim of the fund being to support the advancement of education in the fields of either the practice of agriculture or the science of agriculture in Scotland. Please check the objectives on the website carefully and ensure that your particular item meets the objectives of this group.
Aims to help Young Farmers develop their experiences through international travel.
