04 Jul SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, EAST FIFE JAC CROWNED EAST RALLY CHAMPIONS!
Barns Farm [Dalgety Bay] was the host venue for the 2021 East Rally, by kind permission of the Milne family.
‘East Fife JAC’ scooped the winner’s title for the second time since 1989, a huge achievement after competing against 10 other clubs for the Bibby Shield.
Pipped at the post in close second were friendly rivals, ‘Kinross JAC’ – with Fife & Kinross District’s ‘West Fife JAC’ club participants in third.
The day kicked off with the socially distanced junior and senior sections of Produce Show. Juniors made; Something new from something old [any craft], reusable shopping bag [sewn], floral display, further article [no tasting items], caricature of Lucy Mitchell and a handmade invite for the Climate Change Conference [COP26] Glasgow.
Seniors made; promotional poster, chopping board [any craft], sewn apron, food illusion cake [appearance only], floral arrangement, any farm sign & a caricature of Lucy Mitchell.
Stockjudging and valuation shortly followed, where members had 5 classes of cattle and sheep to judge and approximately 20 agricultural items to valuate. 11.30am saw the beginning of the main competitions, including; mock auction, quad and trailer driving, floral art arranging, identification plus more.
The final section of the day was a favourite of the clubs, the sports and novelty games! Members competed in a 100m sprint, 100m relay race, hoolahooping, egg tossing and wedding dress making [yes, wedding dress making!]
