03 Jul Milk Churns Turn Heads
This year we added a Special Competition to our usual Highland Show Line Up, A Decorated Milk Churn Competition (Supported by the Cattle Information Service).
There was a fantastic array of entries that provided an eye-catching centre-piece to our YF Centre displays this year. The overall winner was a wonderfully decorated churn from Jan King of East Kilbride YF complete with a beautiful overflowing sunflower bouquet.
“I was delighted to win the decorated milk churn! It came as quite a shock as I had seen everyone elseβs entries and they were amazing. I put a lot of effort into painting the churn and Iβm happy that all the hard work paid off!”
This competition was inspired by RHET’s upcoming year of dairy that is starting in August. Speaking on behalf of RHET, Kris Paterson was very impressed with all the entries:
“The entries really have been fabulous, such a great variety of colours and spectacular information across the different pieces. It ties in so nicely with our year of ‘All Things Dairy’ which begins in August and we can’t wait to work more with Young Farmers as the year gets underway.”
