On Saturday 30th November we held our National Junior Speechmaking final in The Members Pavillion, Ingliston by kind permission of RHASS.  A big thank you must go to Briony Harcus, Bruce Lang and Richard Oxley for  judging this competition, all three judges commented on how high the standard of competition was across all nine teams! A special thank you must also go to Jane Strawhorn and Jillian Kennedy who were our Questions Masters for the day and tested all teams with their excellent questions. The final results are as follows:

1st Place – Harray Purple; Hannah Thompson, Beth Fisher & Elsa McIntosh

2nd Place – Kilmaurs; David Goldie, Paul Smith & Lynn Smith

3rd Place – Stranraer & Rhins; James McGarvie, Olivia Turtle & Ruth Turtle

Best Opposer Outwith Winning Team – Ruth Turtle; Stranraer & Rhins

Best Proposer Outwith Winning Team – Max Wyllie; Mauchline

Best Chair Outwith Winning Team – David Goldie; Kilmaurs

Best Overall Speaker – Elsa McIntosh; Harray Purple

The National Junior Quiz final was held during the judging of speechmaking, thanks must go to Sheena & Munro for compiling the quiz and testing our junior member’s knowledge and to National Vice Chair, Jillian Kennedy for acting as Question Master on the day. Thank you must also go to Euan Bremnar, Anne Craig & Jane Strawhorn for  all their help through out the day stewarding and assisting where needed.
