North Sheepdog Trials
The North Region Sheepdog Trial Competition was held on Saturday 17th September by kind permission of the Mair Family, Kinnermit, Turriff.
Six competitors took part with nine dogs, competing for Mearns, Udny, New Deer, Strathbogie and Strathspey young farmers clubs. The event was, once again, supported by the International Sheepdog Society and generously sponsored by Gilbertson and Page Ltd and Aberdeenshire Sheepdogs. The trial was expertly judged by the highly-respected and experienced George Simpson from Huntly.
The overall winner on the day was Harry Cooper of New Deer young farmers with 17 month old Fly. Second place went to Alex Stephen of Mearns Club with 3 year old Meg and third was awarded to Evie Craigie of Udny JAC with 4 year old Sam. An enjoyable day was had by all who competed or came along to watch.

Other competitors on the day who missed out on a placing due to running out of time were David Scott (Roxy & Ralf), Strathbogie and Liam Tinney (Mist & Gus), Strathspey, both running two dogs.
