20 Nov West Ren Talk the Talk in a First for District
West Renfrewshire Make History for the District in Junior Speechmaking
On Sunday 19th of November, we held our West Junior Speechmaking and Quiz at the Coulter Village Hall in Biggar.
We had 8 teams competing in the speechmaking from across the region on the day, presenting on a wide range of topics. We are grateful to our competition judges; Bob Carruth, Lucy McClymont and Stewart Wyllie who were all thoroughly impressed by the high standard from all competitors. In the end it was the team from West Renfrewshire Young Farmers Club who came out on top, impressing the judges with their presenting topic โA Ferry Fiascoโ. This is a historic victory as they are the first club from their district to lift the trophy since its inception in 1988. A fantastic achievement.
Thanks must also go to our Question Masters Andrew Taylor and David Mitchell and to our fantastic stewarding team for helping the day run smoothly. The full results from the both competitions were as follows:
