{"id":17632,"date":"2024-05-09T14:23:03","date_gmt":"2024-05-09T14:23:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sayfc.org\/?p=17632"},"modified":"2024-05-09T15:11:12","modified_gmt":"2024-05-09T15:11:12","slug":"national-sevens-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sayfc.org\/national-sevens-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Biggar on the Ball"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>Hosts take the spoils at the National Sevens<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On Sunday the 5<sup>th<\/sup> May Young Farmers from across Scotland gathered at Biggar Rugby Club for the Association\u2019s Annual Sevens tournament. It was a great afternoon of competition as members battled for the chance of lifting the national title.<\/p>\n<p>This year was particularly special as it saw the introduction of a ladies\u2019 tournament due to demand, a real reflection of the growth of the women\u2019s game inspired by members like Emma Orr and Eva Donaldson who have been tearing it up for the National side.<\/p>\n<p>After a hard-fought tournament, it was Biggar who claimed victory in both the Men\u2019s and Ladies section, much to the delight of the gathered home support. The final results from the day were mirrored in both sections with the Men\u2019s and Ladies\u2019 sides from Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway Districts taking home 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> place respectively:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men\u2019s Tournament<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1<sup>st<\/sup> Place-<\/strong> Biggar YFC<\/p>\n<p><strong>2<sup>nd<\/sup> Place-<\/strong> Ayrshire<\/p>\n<p><strong>3<sup>rd<\/sup> Place-<\/strong> Dumfries &amp; Galloway<\/p>\n<p><strong>Player of the Tournament<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jamie Drummond Ayrshire<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women\u2019s Tournament<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1<sup>st<\/sup> Place-<\/strong> Biggar YFC<\/p>\n<p><strong>2<sup>nd<\/sup> Place-<\/strong> Ayrshire<\/p>\n<p><strong>3<sup>rd<\/sup> Place-<\/strong> Dumfries &amp; Galloway<\/p>\n<p><strong>Player of the Tournament<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rachel Philipps (Biggar)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the tournament, women\u2019s player of the tournament Rachel Philipps can\u2019t wait to see it go strength to strength:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s great having the women\u2019s games running alongside the men\u2019s this year. To run out with Biggar YF that has such close links to the rugby club is really special.
